5 Reasons to Use the Divi WordPress Theme

Aug 26, 2016

Divi is an amazing WordPress theme and there are many reasons why I’m glad that I purchased a membership at Elegant Themes to get Divi, but my top five are listed below.

The Divi Builder

One of the greatest features of Divi is the Divi Builder. It allows you to visually create stunning posts and pages without any complicated coding. Within the builder, elements are transformed in visual building blocks, or content modules, that let you see and understand how the post or page will look. You can choose from 46 different content modules to easily build and customize everything. The content modules range from a simple block of text or an image to a complex pricing table or an interactive Google map. Everything has drag and drop functionality and there are no limitations on how the modules can be arranged. The sky is the limit!

Each content module has three tabs at the top: General Settings, Advanced Design Settings and Custom CSS. On the General Settings tab, you can easily control the content and the basic design of the module.  As you might have guessed, the Advanced Design Settings tab provides control over more advanced options like the typography, colors, spacing, and other various styles. Divi doesn’t require any coding knowledge, but the Custom CSS tab gives web designers the ability to add custom CSS to any element for even more customization.

Divi Theme Customizer

The Divi Theme Customizer has hundreds of options, separated into different categories, for controlling the basic style of your site, including header styles, typography styles, content spacing, footer layout, default colors and much more. The structure of the Customizer is very well organized and as you modify the settings, you will see a live preview of the results. Once you click “Save & Publish”, the changes will be reflected on your live website. It doesn’t get any easier than that!

Pre-made Layouts

Divi comes with 32 pre-made layouts that are completely customizable and can be used as a great starting point for creating your own designs. By editing each element in the layout with your own content, you can have a great looking custom page within minutes.

To demonstrate, I chose a pre-made layout named “Project Extended”. The left side of this image below shows the Divi Builder view and the right side shows how it looks on the site.

Another great feature is the ability to create your own custom layouts using the Divi Builder and save them for future use.

Responsive Design

Divi is beautifully responsive no matter how you choose to configure your site. Every module will adjust to your visitor’s screen, creating the best viewing experience possible. The best way to see it in action is to simply adjust the width of your browser window. You may also want to see how our Home page responds since it contains a variety of different modules.

Divi Leads

Divi has an integrated split testing and conversion rate optimization system built right in the Divi Builder. Anything you create can be made into a split test and Divi Leads will automatically track user engagement stats based on the unique goal you define. This allows you to change your content, design and positioning to determine which combinations are the most effective. Divi Leads is very easy to use and the in-depth stats are easy to understand.
